whats a logger/ whats it do?

I am a total newb and i was wondering what a logger is and what it does. can anyone help me out?

Well the best way to explain it is... you plug it into your OBD/II connector and it will read data from the ECM/ECU/PCM/TCM/BCM depending on what type of automobile you are using it on.

You can use PC data loggers, Palm data loggers, or even hand held data loggers like Actron Loggers/Scanners.

There are many, many different kinds also. Do your research and find the one that suits your needs. Most DSMers agree that one is necessary if you wish to mod your car or not.
