Whats a easy way to check for bent valves

I was wondering what would be the best way to check for bent valves when the car wont start...Broken t-belt...Am I going to have to take the head apart just to see if they are bent....Thanx

compretion test will give ya a clue

So then I can do a compression check even if the car wont try and start

Either have a leakdown test performed, or yank the head and have it vacuum tested.

I've had a car that slipped 3 teeth on the intake side while running 70mph. Didn't bend any valves but wouldn't start either. Just put the car back in time.

That's not really going to help this guy since his timing belt broke. There's a 100% chance that he's bent the valves. Since he's going to have to pull the head, he should check to make sure there was no piston damage from slamming into an open valve.
