ok i got about $1100 for a new turbo and boost controller system.. i have worn down normal 16 which is not boosting like she once did. so im made some money for a new one and need help to pick. Im really liking the Evo 3 Big 16g and the HKS GENERATION 6 EVC BOOST CONTROLLER. But i need some feed back if im making a smart move. please help :D

a evo3 16g would be great better than that t-25 2gen has and depends on mods and Maintenance and the best would be Mitsu 16g or fp and no ebay made in china junk turbos.

Code:
AND NO dont go out and get a $20 boost controller they are junk
!!!! Get a good one like hallman, turboxs, turbosmart etc...... ebay junk will break and will not last long and make it not safe on the motor by the fact that its broke and cant controll boost. Do it right the first time thats the problem with alot of dsmers try to cheap out on stuff and then blame the car well its the persons fault not the car for cheaping out on parts.

they are junk?? the NXS MBC off ebay has one of the best reviews for mbc's, there are far more people that own and use them than there are that use a brandname, the nxs mbc hold boost waaay better than the turbosmart bleed type mbc and it only costs $15, you should research before you start calling things junk

Seeing how you're a fellow DSM'er (not because you're a SoCal DSM'er :shhh:) I'm going to help you out...or at least try to.

Check this out: How to set up MMCD & make a logging cable.

and this too: PalmOS on your Laptop --No more needing batteries.

These two articles can get you set up with a logger for virtually next to nothing, assuming you have a laptop laying around. If you don't have a laptop with a serial (RS232) port on it then you may have to purchase a serial to usb adaptor. Regarding the palm emulator: shoot me a pm and I'll hook you up with it...

Oh yeah I forgot to mention: since you have a 99 GSX you can flash your ecu, effectively eliminating your need for a AFC!

98/99 Flashing FAQ

It's definitely worth taking a look at, if you're willing to do some research.

Exactly.
I can't believe my post got deleted. This is garbage. I had a feeling my posts have been getting deleted lately in tech sections because when I search my name usually the same dumb threads come up.

Since asking what your goals are and if you have supporting mods is wrong. I can tell you that you don't know what your doing. Please search.

yeah i got a laptop laying around alright thanks iv have been doing some research and yeah i had no clue what i was doing now i got a clue.. just need to learn how to set up all the software and get those plugs.. sorry for not researching first. and can anyone give me a link where to buy those plugs for the computer and car. thanks alot

Stay true to the spirit of dsm tuning and build it yourself! :hellyeah: haha it's pretty easy to do (and cheap) and you'll learn some stuff along the way. One of the links above tells you how in case you missed it. If you don't want to I guess you could try ebay for an OBDII to Serial (or USB) cable.

the link i had to the discount was broken so i went ahead and spent the extra 4 bucks LOL. Did that saturday and it's sitting at my house waiting for me right now. fighter jet or guy with a death wish on a 'busa. So not only is it a great product, but the customer service is excellent it seems as well.

use the search man, honestly read about 10-20 different topics and your bound to get your answer! the search option isnt there just because people dont want to talk to you LOL.

It all depends on your goals. i have a 16g on a stock motor and it feels like it can beat most street cars with engine mods.

Sorry to come off rude in my last post but it was unnecessary of the mod that did it. Good luck!

Not too sure how well these work...maybe someone who's tried ebay cables can chime in and let the rest of us know. Also, unless you have a serial port on your laptop I'd get an OBD2 to USB instead.

haha alright well getten the new 16g and then the supporting mods is my fist step and trying to figure out the tuning step.. wana do that as best as i can...

does anyone one know if the aftermarket fuel injectors have the number on them saying what kind they are? ### im pretty sure my are not stock
