I need some experienced people to answer my question. My car is almost ready to come out of the shop, and will have a fresh paint job. What can I use to protect the paint? Or should I use anything? How long should I wait? Thanks everybody!

ask who ever is painting the car most say not to use anything for the first 30 days after painting. personaly I would wait even if he/she says it ok to wax/protect just because you want the clear coat to totaly harden.

hope this helps and I know this will be the longest 30 days ever

They told my friend 3 months before he could wax it because if you cover it up the clear wont set up right and then it'll get a foggy look to it :sosad: anyway just clean it at the car wash often should do the job.

When everything is completely ready to be waxed, I recommend some high quality stuff to protect your investment. Zaino brothers is the best stuff around. Read everything on this website and do exactly what they tell you. I promise you will not regret it.

Make sure to read some of the testimonies and take a look at the pictures.

i'd wait at least 30-60 days, then take it back to the shop, or a well known detailer, have them wetsand & buff it really nice. give it a good bath, then a good high quality wax (Zaino Bros, even Turtle is good) over that, and you should be set.

and yes, don't laugh... Turtle Wax actually is a great protectant. it's been around probably the longest, and they do some really good things with their wax. i've used it myself in the past, not my main choice, but it DOES work really well. it's all in how you apply and wipe the wax.

otherwise, get a good high end like others mentioned, and you're good to go

Don't wash it for at least three weeks and don't wax for a month. Just leave a huge distance between you and the vehicle in front of you on the roads whenever possible (especially highways) until they get all the sand/salt off your roads to keep it from getting rock chips in the meantime.
