So I recently bought a 93 tsi awd talon and it came with a decent amount of aftermarket parts on it. I was wondering what I should keep and what I should change out. Im wanting to reach 350hp but try to build it up enough to support up to 500hp if I ever wanted to go that high, no point in buying parts twice. So here is a list of what I know it has for sure.

2G exhaust manifold
Big 16G
GM 3" MAF with translator
660cc injectors
255lph walboro
Big FMIC
Full 3" back straight piped exhaust
LC1 wideband
HKS SQV BOV
ACT2600 clutch

Im going to need some kind of stand alone or the like and wondering what is the best to go with.
All fluids in the drivetrain have been flushed and refilled
Any input is appreciated

You'd want to get forged pistons/rods to be safe at around 500, and head studs. Also sell the MAF translator and get ECMlink and the GM MAF cable from them. It just plugs it straight in the ECU and is much better. Also rewire the fuel pump, probably ditch the OEM fuel filter setup with an AN line from the hardlines to the rail, and bigger injectors when you want to go higher than the 350hp. I'd recommend the new FIC 1650s.

Everything else looks good, the LC1 is actually able to be logged directly in ECMlink, so that'll be really nice for you.

350hp easily acheivable with that setup. If you really want to push that 16g get some 1250cc injectors and throw some e85 in the tank.

500hp would also be acheivable with 272 cams, mitsu 20g or hx35, external wastegate setup and a better fuel setup. Oh and something to tune with.

This is all assuming you have at least some general maint. done on the car like the timing belt, headgasket with some ARP studs, etc etc.

Do some research though all of this is thoroughly covered.

Agreed except for the fuel filter and built motor. It's just not neccessary imo if you already have a perfectly healthy motor to work with. I run stock lines, off brand stock fuel filter, and rail on e85. Well proven to support the 500whp range.

I agree that you can, but as tiny as that upper banjo hole is you'd at least want to replace that. For as cheap as it is ($40 i think, I just ordered one) it's a good deal. I went with the OEM filter though, I suggested maybe replacing it on the 1G because local guys have said that portion of the line is smaller. Feel free to correct me if that's not the case. And i'd suggest a built bottom end just because very small amounts of detonation can kill stock internals; especially at higher power levels. I do agree that e85 is good to run if you are able to get it reliably.

Head was just rebuilt and new timing belt installed so all is good there. I have another complete motor that I plan to take my time and build up for the future. So it seems that ecmlink is the way to go, who has the best price on them? or does anybody have a used one to sell..... E85 was already what i was planning on running in the end. Here in the midwest e85 is at about every pump. I have a 2005 SRT4 that will be running on E85 come spring time as well, already got my corvette running on it. Ive been reading on here for the past 3 days and ive already learned a good amount about the car, sometimes its just nice to hear somebody say what you are already thinking to solidify it for you.

Thats sweet. E85 is the way to go especially on a stock block. Really all you would need is bigger injectors since you already have the pump and a fuel pressure regulator if you don't have one already. Also, you will need a way to relieve pressure i.e. catch can.

I was planning on going up to 1000cc injectors but hear a lot of people saying go to 1250cc injectors, guess I will see when the time comes. Also there is already a catch can in place.

Here's a nice little page to read, right from the horses mouth.

I won't be on e85, but the 1100cc seems to be a nice all-around good size for street/strip on pump gas for me. So I picked up the High-z 1100's on sale during one of the vendor's black friday sale and it came with the resistor bypass plug for free.

If you think you'll be 500hp on e85, then it appears the 1650cc might be the better choice.
