My car is a 91 GSX ... I just started the motor work now on my 6 Bolt. Im doing a full rebuild . The only thing im changing is Evo 9 pistons instead of 7.8.1. im going to be running a MHI Small 16G turbo with the 6cm hotside I just got 560cc injecters ,, 255 lph pump,, Areo AFPR, boost gauge, Evo 02 houseing, down pipe, thats all I got so far .. Ive been reading and I dont know what to get to tune this car . keep in mind I dont have a laptop and I dont know much about tunning,, money is a facktor so , but 3 years ago I did order off Ebay a palm with a logging disk and a cable to hook to the obd1 port ... Im open to anything thnaks for your time !!! ????

If I get DSM link V3 Lite do I still need to get a Wideband and a EGT gauge? and can I run my stock MAF ?

Any time you want to tune and mess around with your fueling, you want a wideband. My personal preferance is the Innovate MTX-L. I have a video of it on my vehicle you can find on this site.

EGT is not needed at all.

Stock MAF can be used or you can upgrade to a stock 2g MAF as well :thumb: You do need to have an EPROM ECU to use ECMLink and that will require a laptop. Nothing fancy is needed.

If you are going to up boost, those electronic boost controllers are just a waste of money as well as turbo timers (unless you beat on the car before parking it)

Since you have a palm logger, you could opt to utilize that and an SAFC. Not the greatest of tuning solutions but it's workable. There is also DS-MAP which is another free solution but requires an EPROM ECU, laptop, and hooking up a MAP and IAT sensor to run speed density.

a wideband is a must for tuning, but an EGT gauge is not a total must. Plus i know you said you don't have a laptop and dsmlink requires a laptop. I have not had much experience with SAFC but i know they are one of the cheapest and simplest tuning tools out there, and they don't have much adjustability.

Thanks guys for your input I think im gonna go with the DSM Link V3 lite ... best i can find it for is 375 now besides the V3 and a WideBand... I do have a Eprom ECU is there anything else i need to run this ????

Just the chip, software, cable, and a lap top and you are good to go. Be highly considerate of the MTXL wideband from Innovate. Don't just cheap out and find the cheapest thing as it won't be as accurate. Innovate is hands down the most accurate WB producer out of the bunch with the AEM UEGO trailing behind somewhere.

What I don't like about the UEGO is you cannot calibrate the sensor and you have a very narrow reading range.
