What tire is good for drag use?

I have a 92 gsx. with a lot of mods. and I need a good tire or drag radial for a 17" rim. any one have any ideas.

I have NITTO Neo Gens (17-215-45) and I like them.
When they were first purchased I didn't really like them because they were "overrated" in my opinion and a "ricer" tire. However, the tires perform amazingly well to me for the price. There break-free thresh hold is also very distinguishable, they warn you when they start to break free, and control is easily regained. They don't "squeal" much either, from start or turning.
I like them after using them for the street, decent traction on launches; hopefully I'll be able to lend some insight on drag tires soon

I got mine from a different company but that's only because I needed certain rims, but the tires weren't as cheap as Tire Rack.

I had great success with nitto 555r's on my 500hp LS1 Z28, so I would assume they work equally well on a GSX.

i installed a set of 555r's a while back on a newer cobra. they are very sticky, i figure he blew his rear end by now. (they were way oversized for his stock diff.) anyway, they are pretty nice, i have also heard good things about neo gens too.

Falken Azenis sport are quite nice. I've used them on my car since I've owned it.

Not too cheap though..

EDIT: I just read the "For Drag Use' part. The sidewalls on them are pretty stiff, so I don't know how they would perform in that venue.

Do you know where i can get 225/45/17. tirerack and discount tire direct did not have that size.

It looks like they only offer a 245/45/17 tire though.

You are going to have a rough time finding 17" drag tires. If you do, you will have to pay through the nose for them. Consider at least a set of 16's or even 15's if you want a nice selection of drag tires.
