What The Hell Is This For?(gap in kit bumper edge)

What the hell is this gap for in my blitz rear?????? is it so i can get a jack under there or something??? Now the kit isnt fitted on yet and the pic is just it sitting on the rear so NO i wasnt gonna mount it like that. But what im talkin abotu it beside the exhaust where the arrow is pointing...

It is not busted....it is a very clean line around it and i have seen it on other peoples blitz rears on this site.

Check to see if the tow hook is somewhere behind it. If so it's there so your kit doesn't break when it gets towed.

Thanks...i was gonna post the pic of that sick 350Z blue 2G. But yeah the tow hook..i could not find, and i dont wanna cut out that entire piece because i think it shows to much of the gas tank. Im not gonna do anything to it anyway, but i just cant figure out what its for other than a jack point?? Thanks for the input, and if anyone finds out please post

I too have pondered the existance of that little cut-out for the longest time, i have also wondered the function of the two little humps on the underside of the wing section (below the lisence plate, offset to the right.) Instead of spending hours re-glassing this section i am just going to mask it off and paint the underside gloss black. gives it a diffuser look too.

Those 2 little bumps match up perfectly on my talon. There is little brackets they bolt to. Maybe eclipses' didnt come with them??

the two little humps is clearance for the body frame, at least on my car, dunno what the groove is for but looks okay to me

dude u got the good blitz kit. dont worry about thats how it is. on the 2 pics above u have the 1 that the blue car has. and thats way better than the 1 in the red car because the 1 in the red car dont cover the gastank in the back.....p.s. gl on ur car man

Primer and fitment tommorrow and then hopefully next week paint and install. Ill post a thread with the finished product. Although i dont have the blitz front, ive got the evo/sinsei front

yea....look at the difference b/w the license plate holder and the reverse lights on the different blitzes too
the red and blue ones reverse lights are the same...but look at yours

my blitz kit is like the one on the red one

i work at a shop and there is 4 of those bumpers in the shop currently with that part missing.

when i got my rear bumper two years ago it had that and i just fiberglassed it. i have NO idea as to why its there.

umm; that ain't the gas tank you see in the red car picture, its the spare tire well, tank's in front of the rear axle

yeah i never noticed that botu the back up lights, i like the way my back ups are set up better though. and thanks, i thought the gas tank was under the spare tire well, never payed that much attention when my car was jacked up. now i can drill into it if i have to

on the unidirectional tires, i never would have noticed that just glancing at the pic. about the b/u lights and license holder, could there be a difference between us and euro kits? after all, in most of europe they have those wide f-ing license plates that would need a space like on white97rs's bumper just for the plate to fit. and the other two might have the us version. just an idea i thought of as i was laughing.

My blitz rear had the same little hole by the exhaust. Not sure what it was for though. The two little humps on the bottom are supposed to line up with a bracket on the back of the car. I just made a straight line under the two little humps and cut off the excess fiberglass, taking out the second little hole by the exhaust. I'll post some pics if you would like of my blitz rear and how i trimmed the fiberglass.
