heres the story. i passed out drunk a few days ago and somebody took my car (90 eagle talon tsi) i get it back and it runs like shit. i took the cat off like 5 days ago and ya. now its super louder then before when the cat was off, now it backfires, i wasnt hitting any boost really, i took out the sparkplugs and they were chared one was even burn off (no tip) changed those that gave me some boost but my buddy said platinums are bad for dsms so whats good plugs?? and still my car runs like shit what could be the problem. i did a boost leak test and im good there so i dont know.

yes it idles very loud. rpms dont jump or anything its just really loud, backfires and isnt as fast as it used to be.

I would do the following steps:

1) Check the fuel. Morons always dump stuff in your fuel system.
2) Check the fluids esp engine oil and tranny fluid. I would even change them just to be sure.
3) Since your plugs are bad, check the wires too.

Hopefully you get your car running back to normal. Next time, hide your keys even if it needs to be put where the sun dont shine. Unless the person is a girl, they wont dare look in there. :laugh:

my fluids are fine just changed the tranny fluid with my clutch change. and how would i check my fuel?? i dont think its that cause our fuel tanks lock shut but how do i anyway check that shit and if its not that what could it be and if it is how do i flush out my system

I would say it's likely they filled it with el-cheapo 85 octane gas. That would cause it to have very bad knock, and to basically do what you are describing. That's the best case scenario. Worst case, whatever happened you are now running incredibly lean which could indicate your fuel lines are getting gummed up with crap...

I would say dump some Torco in your fuel tank to up your octane level. I know DSMs and Supras run like crap when cheap gas is put in the tank.

If you got a logger, run a scan on the car.

ok well the next day when i knew it was happening i had like 1/4 tank so i put 5 dollars of 91 in. earlier that day when i filled up my tank i put in 91 and some nos octane booster so idk. im goin to pocket log it but i need to know how to flush out my fuel system
