What the hell are these???

I don't see how they would be in the transfer case if they chewed your pressure plate bolts up. Can you elaborate?

your right, bad writing... Not transfer case, it was in the tranmission (transaxle) in the bell housing, as some might call it. There was eight of those pieces of metal.

I think they came of the stock clutch plate, but im not sure. I was hoping someone might know, or have a picture of there's they could post i could look at.
I had a junk motor that I had to get the bolts from (for the clutch). Though inside that motor the clutch was replaced so it wasn't stock so I couldn't tell where those metal pieces came from.

Gremlin droppings. You have Gremlins in you clutch. Better tent your car and get a couple cans of Raid Insect Fogger, and do it quick! Gremlins love to munch on DSM clutches. :)

Heh, actually they sorta look like teeth from the starter gear or from the ring gear on the flywheel.

ok heres a new pic of the metal pieces and clutch. I also circled where they might have came from, but I don't know. My photo got removed because it was a part not installed

I also checked the starter teeth, it wasn't it. The gear was fine.

It's hard to see in that pic, but it looks like they broke off the clutch disc. There are supposed to be tabs to hold the springs in place. The tabs should be on the outer and inner edge of the spring. It kinda looks like they broke off. Do the springs fit loosely?

listen to pneumo he is one of the few people who have a sense of humor around here. and i that gremlin thing is one of the funniest things i have heard. keep up the good humor.

try to hold the camera closer to the pieces and clutch next time.

then we can decide what type of gremlin you have. maybe its that one with the really big boobs if you are lucky

Wow! I would almost descrive those as Chunks not piecees. Are the alignment pins still in the flywheel? That is what they look like to me is the alignment pins. However they are generally pressed in and I dont see how they could all fall out unless somebody didnt know what they were doing when installing them. Keep us updated!
