My turbo shit the bed this week. I have an extended warrety that is going to cover it. The garge said that the factory turbo was too much $$ so he is going to put in an after market one. He gave me the spec sheet for this new turbo, It states
"the turbo is based on the latest GT series technology. Designs incorporated consists of the 76 trim series turbine stage coupled with high flow TB03 compressor stage. The turbo is a direct replacment for the production TB25 and the change out requires no specialinstallation hardware.
Product highlights:
Larger TB03 high flow compressor stage-increases flow capacity from 23lbs/min to 34lbs/min
Maximun power potential 300hp
Improved trasient response due to higher effeciency GT turbine stage
Integral wastegate assembly with adjustable rod end.

What kinda turbo is it? I know it is a garret but which one?
 
I think i found what it is. I think it is a gt25! Has anybody used these?
 
holy schnikys.. they say the stock turbo is too expensice so they are putting a uprgraded aftermarket one on under your warranty!!
 
Yea they are, i haev mellinium (spelling). I was just looking at the stats for the t28 and it has 36 lbs/min and this thing has 34lbs/min and uses a tb03 stage compressor. So mybe it is like a t28. What do you think?

Have you priced out a new factory turbo lately? Conicelli says over $1,700 list and they sell it for over $1300. For that price you can have a real nice turbo, don't you think?

UMMM, 50-60 trim even a fp3065, shit a 50 trim with and an sbr fmic for the price concilli says a stock one goes for, shit the warantee guys ripping you off, he should install a fitty on your car :p
 
he doesn't want a 50 with a stock car...it would suck.

Take a look at the garret catalog available in PDF format on their site. They have a special catalog for hte GT turbos.

It appears to be a GT 25. The GT turbos are the new offering from garret and supposidly are well designed.

I just don't know about that exhaust wheel. Also GT turbos from garret arn't sold with turbine housings typicalls so the guys at the shop will have to put it on your old one....but then again it has a wastegate so maybe that one comes complete or an intermediate shop is doing the build up.
 
Its not a stock turbo. It is a GT25. Supposadly it supports 300hp!
 
I found this website, and the it says the turbo is a t28, it has all the same stats as the sheet i have. Mybe it's a t28 then! I hope so!

Actually it should read "specs". Stats is a math term for collecting and analizing data(usually used to describe groups of people). What you want is the "specifications" of the turbo.

Ya I know, but he spelled STATS wrong!!! I mean shit cmon man :cry:

Yeah today at work i was looking under 2g eclipse in the crash repair book and the t-25 was listed at $1,255 and for A/T it was $10more. OMG

Its true, mitsu parts are a ripoff.
 
I amnot sure how to upload pics, but the wheel is alot bigger than the stock wheel on the t25.
