ok - so I'm buying this blown turbo (bearings shot) from some kid with a VW.

he tells me its a t3/t4 - b cover .48 turbine housing a/r

when i looked at the pictures everything seems fine except that the compressor wheel has fins that are grouped in pairs. now I have a new to4e 50 trim sitting in my bedroom and it definetly does not have paired fins.

anyone know which t4 wheels are paired?

TIA

If it is a b cover it shouldn't look like an to4e wheel.

Take the compressor cover of and get the inducer and exducer size for the comp wheel.

With that you should be able to find out what size it really is.

yeah but the wheels shouldn't vary just cause the cover is different

i know for sure my turbo is a to4e 50 trim

i also have not purchased the turbo yet - but for $100 + $50 rebuild kit - i think I'll buy it anyhow and resell it to some vee dub owner
