What speed does your NT max out at?

i speak form experience and agree with the 130 mark, i have a 97 rs and everytime i get it to 130 the fuel cuts off due to the car came with h rated tires which over that speed would be unsafe. need to get a chip.

I just kept going and going until I hit the rev Limiter in 5th gear at around 140, and shredded my power steering and a/c belts.

I don't go over 70 anymore I shake and shimmy to bad ( the car not me)

ok, now i'm pretty sure there's a govenor on dsm's at 130mph...if you've gotten your car over that then it's due to an inaccurate speedometer. otherwise you'd have to have taken the govenor off...which i doubt any of you did.

My 1G 2.0 with basic mods hit just over 210 km/h. Took a while to get there. Thats about 125 MPH.

well there is no governor on my car. i bought it new in 98 and even when i only had an air intake and a cfdfc i've been able to rev. just over the limiter at least form 1st through 4th and i've hit over 150mph numerous time. so yours has a limiter, sorry... get over it, and if it bothers you that much then take it out.

wow, that speedo has gotta really be off!

all fwd dsm's come with govenors....and it doesn't bother me at all

you don't have to have a chip to get past the 130 limit, but don't be stupid and use your stock tires. You've gotta get z-rated tires, the h-rated ones wont cut it, they will get too hot and can't handle the pressure.

I agree with racer-x my 96' rs can any day of the week cruise at 120 -130 and have been up to 165 and 150 easily with almost no mods.

if all n/t come with a governor then i challenge you to come down and find mine then drive it if it cant get past 125mph i'll pay for you round trip air fair + expenses. heres my info. Oh, but if you can't find the governor and i can go past 125mph then the bet is a $500 pay off. well now put you money where your mouth is.

2G's non turbo have no govenor, they just hit a brick wall at 5500 rpm's in 5th gear. 122 for me. Drag limited they call it.

it's 130mph, not 125.

Okay, don’t get me wrong. I can put fourth my concurrence with OddyseusDSM. The RT11 run was merely to push the car to see what could be done. It is not lie when the eclipse was pulling away from my 93 lebaron. I buried the needle all the way over and it was pined at the 140 mark for 10 minutes. As my car screamed bloody murder from the crippling RPM's being pumped from its mechanical parts, OddyseusDSM still kept an unbridgeable gap between him and me. In the distance from him to me, he was pulling 145 to 150+ as u could fit a car and a half between us. Yes it’s a non-turbo and yes it’s a first gen DSM, but the replacement of the engine from the accidents may have brought with it a unique character. Time will show more findings.

I have had my 1.8 up to 109 before I ran out of road. Also usually I drive about 65-80mph. Why after about 75 does my steering get stiffer than at low speeds?
