Well, I keep pussin out at 115-120.. I can get their pretty easy and it feels real good (X-tra smooth). Now, I have Kumho's on all 4 tires and it is soooo nice.. The tires are screaming come on punk don't you have anymore and the car wants more also but- I haven't found a good spot to go WOT until max out.. I'm almost certain I could hit 130 with the way 120 feels... Soon enough..
 
The Fastest I've ever had her going was 143, with brand new tires and a very deserted stretch of downhill road, on a flat road I can hit 130 easy but then it just doesn't have the power to tach out, this is where boost is key;)
 
Due to a lack of power and aerodynamics, my spyder maxes out at about 130. I had a 95 RS with HP in the range of 250. I could get that up to about 165 before i ran out of road.
 
i hit 135 or so on the 99 hwy coming out of the grapevine one night and that was when mine was stock.
 
I hit 140 mph (in a 65 zone OMG ) on a flat road with 4 people in the car, I haven't ever tried it with just me.
 
105 not to fast but fast enought. because if i get a ticket i have no car (i'm 17) parents will take it and drive or sell it.
 
hey man im only 17 too. i got a 96 in a 65 back in may. license is gone for 3 months. 2 weeks ago i got a 97 in a 55. my licenese is goine a long time. when parents find out bout the second one im done. but its cool cuz i bought the car.im thinking bout buyin a 91 tsi. 101k turbo dont work. i think im gonna make it my project while i cant drive possibly drop a cyclone in it. i dont know.
 
My Spyder only does about 130, but I got busted for 94 in a 45. In Schaumburg, there's a group of about five or six turbos, and they all have over 500 HP. These things are ridiculously fast. I know this is a non-turbo site and you probably, but these cars go well over 180.
 
My '90 GS maxed out at 135, took the air filter out for it. Don't know if it helped any..
 
I busted 145 on the interstate racing a audi TT, I was at 7200 RPM and i probably had about 15 more MPH before the Rev Limiter would've kicked in. The Audi didn't find it funny that I whooped him... Neither did the State Trooper....
 
i got mine to almost peg out. i had a '90 GS 2.0 w/ 144,000 miles. the speedo was off too, i don't know why(i would do 50 mph and the speedo would read 43 mph) well anyway on RT 11 (10 miles some turns/slight hills) my speedo was reading 142 mph@ exactly 5000 rpm. i had a bad clutch on the car too.
 
145@7200rpm? What gear where you in? You must have an auto or something, cuz I know 2G NT guys who have topped out at 160 (with a rebuild and turbo kit)in 5th and with room to spare. You couldnt have been in 4th cuz it doesnt reach those speeds in that gear. Plus are rev limiter is AT 7200rpms

It could be one of two things..

1. the 420a :)
2. the parking bench on your hatch :)

hehe, just kidding.. I think I had my 1G nt to like 120.. didn't have anything above that and it took me forever to get there
 
Pulled over and arrested, lost my license for 6 months doing 152mph in my 94 Talon Es
