I just traded my 94 T/a for a 95 Eclipse GST.
After I got the car I found out what was wrong with it the timing belt is missing like 6 teeth in a row so when it got to the crank it just spins in place......

I know these motors are interference motors..Should I pull the head off and get the valves replaced. Or just fork over 1300.00 for one of the e-bay 4g64's from japan?
oh yeah the od is reading 200k

The guy told me the botom end had been rebuilt and it had a new head but the timing belt was and old it looks shreded

The motor comes with all acc turbo incl shipped 1300.00 is that a good deal on a used motor?

And I'm kinda nervous about this one cause it is turbo charged I have a 98 Eclipse Rs that is about to blow it's head gaskit but that motor is pretty east to work on.

I will be doing all this on the ground :( with jack stands in order to remove the head what all needs to come off?

Intake
TB
header with turbo or leave it attached?

in honest opinion man i would seriously look into a 6bolt conversion and if its an auto they have kits on ipt transmission for the conversion. I put a 7 bolt back into my car waste of time i even babied the crap out of it took care of it and it still crank walked the 7 bolts are a hit or a miss. I know some ppl will say that the 7bolt is just as strong as the 6 bolt but from my past they are not.

First of all he sold you a car that was messed up in the first place. So I would not hear anything he has to say.If you love the car and have the $$$ don't spend time tring to fix the problem like I did.Sit down and find out were you want to be with this car do your research then get it done.I spent 13 years tring to find out this with my tsi and a lot of time and money. So get it done the first time. Good luck..
