What PSI does the 1g stock wastegate open at?

I've lost my manual and can't check it

TIA

It opens under vacuum, so about -5 or so.

Do you mean when does it start to leak? Someplace over twenty, beyond what the engine can live with.

I'd like to know what manual you may have seen it in.

Uhh.... since when does a wastegate open under VACUUM? You must be thinking of the BOV. Stock wastegate spring pressure is right around 9psi.

Oh, and the stock 1G BOV starts to leak around 17psi. Starts opening at 14" of vacuum, but I may be mistaken on that.

Never actually read the value in my manual. I just figured that it would be in there for troubleshooting. I'd be talking about the official big brown book that we love :)

Thanks, but wouldn't this mean that stock boost is only set at 9psi? I thought stock 1g boost was 11.5. 1000q.dsm.org says that it's anywhere from 8-12psi on 1g's. (Which would make either of us be right).

I guess a better question to ask would be:

Am I correct when thinking that the wastegate "setting" is equivalent to the boost I run? (in a stock system)

or even

What's the lowest boost I could ever hope to run with a 1g wastegate?

I thought the stock 1g BOV could handle more than that...

The stock BCS (little black plastic piece attached to your aircan) is what controls the boost from the factory. It's set for approx. 11psi. The spring in the wastegate actuator requires around 9psi for it to open up the actual wastegate flapper door. 9psi is the lowest you can run with the stock gate.
