Learning more and more everyday....:)
I am looking to build my Talon up to run max psi on the street with 93 octane gas. It's not a race car only, and not a daily driver. Kinda in between, I might drive it a week and then park it for two. Just wondering what is the max psi I could or should run and be SAFE! and wondering what you guys are running.

hmm... I had my MBC turned up all the way and spanked a NSX before. I didn't have a gauge so I can't tell you the psi. After I got the gauge installed, at 3500rpm i was already boosting 20! Thats the max my gauge reads. Who knows how much higher I was going.
After reading all the threads, I set my boost down to 15psi on 92 octane. I'm glad DSM motors don't breakdown when their owners do stupid things with them.

It flows more, yeah, but now I wish I had a 255lph and an AFPR. I'll most likely be upgrading it again this winter. I think I'll use an external FP and a fuel cell, which may be overkill, but I hate replacing parts more than once!

The biggest benifit of the 190lph FP is that is doesn't overrun the stock FPR. Good luck.

Thanks. After reading some more posts about people who had to replace the 190 pump because it didn't flow enough, I'm going to bite the bullet and go the expensive route.
It's Supra Pump/AFPR/660s for me. (why 660s? Because I've seen too many datalogs of mid-12 second guys showing 100 percent duty cycle on 550s. I don't want to have to turn up the fuel pressure above stock, and ruin my idle/emissions) If I decide I want to run 11s someday, my fuel system will be able to handle it.

Good idea.

What octane were they at 100% d/c on the 550's? I haven't logged injector d/c % at the track, although I might next time just for S&G. I've seen lots of guys run 11's with 550's and C16 (116 octane) race gas. Of course they had big pumps and AFPR's. I'm trying to do it on a 190lph FP and the stock regulator.

VP C16 (which is actually 117octane, I think) allows DSMs to do the impossible, as you already know. The datalogs I saw were on C16. The driver was running around 110mph traps and getting 87% injector duty. (DSMLink log) I was way off, sorry. However, I've heard that going over 90% isn't a "good" thing for whatever reason.

So, it looks like 550s may be enough for you to go 11s with the stock base fuel pressure and C16. The only question is your 190lph fuel pump. My guess is a bigger pump and a AFPR is in your future.

Im in the middle of tuning for the perfect boost level for my car as we speak. As of now I have a big16g running 17psi on 91 octane. I think Ill be able to tune it nicely with this. I live in az and its usually hot here, so maybe Ill be able to turn it up a bit more in the winter...My logs are all in the fuel tuning forum under "new log what do you guys think"...check it out. :dsm:

1g, 14b, boost controller, hacked air box. 16/17psi with rewired pump.

2g in its hayday.

16g, fmic, etc. I could go up to 22psi on 94octane and be in tune. However it was very day to day and would piss me off messing with it. Settled it down to around 19.5-20.5 and it was better day to day. I'm gonna go for 24psi on 94 on the new turbo and motor once all is said in done.

I bet alot of you guys don't datalog...your cars would probably be much faster if you did :).

i just put in a MBC like a week ago. still got the stock t-28 with a few mods. you can turn the thing up if you want (like all my idiot friends keep saying, "dude turn it up to 25 and you'll spank vettes!!") but it only holds that setting for like a milisecond before falling back down to around 15 psi. i believe that's the max boost the stock turbo will hold on a 2G. so set it at 15 and get the best premium you can find.

so: stock t-28
HKS SSQV
GReddy UICP
extreme MBC

15 psi
93 octane

wow, man i suck. yeah, 2G's have a t25 not a t28. just goes to show, a newbie can read all he wants and pretend he knows stuff but let him talk a bit and it all falls apart.
