im about to do an oil change and i want to put in a synthetic oil, because i am putting up some high numbers on my odometer. But which kind should i use 10w-40 ? 10w-30, Royal Purple? im kind of clueless and any help would be appreciated. thanks

Unless your car always used synthetic, you dont want synthetic. Our cars aren't really made for it. For your engine, being its a 420a, i would used a 5w-30 or 10-30. I believe thats what the owners manual says which you should have BTW.

i would just do a search on here for "oil weights" i just did and got about 10 threads

i checked the vfaq and most of the links on the site dont work anymore and i really couldnt find much about what oil, so this one is still up in the air ...
