What makes the apexi n1 sound the way it does?

Thanks for all the reply's guys.

This is what I will end up doing

I would not spend any more then that especially if you plan to replace the muffler anyway. Why cut up part of a $500 exhaust when you can get one for under $200 to do it to.

Now there are a couple of options on ebay:

95 96 97 98 99 ECLIPSE GST / TALON JDM CATBACK EXHAUST: eBay Motors (item 400163362668 end time Oct-19-10 11:37:44 PDT)

or

95-99 96 97 98 Eclipse GST N1 Catback Cat Back Exhaust: eBay Motors (item 260538525581 end time Nov-11-10 17:15:56 PST)

A couple of questions:

Does anybody have experience with these?

Are there any ebay catbacks (full 3 inch) that let the muffler point straight back? I want to stay away from the angled look. I am aware of the added restriction of doing this.

Nothing sounds more baller than an electric cutout with full 3" piping necking back into 2.5" at the stock muffler. But my car is cammed so it sounds a bit better than the stock cams with and open downpipe.

This video is old and the setup is way cleaner now, and all that murder crap is gone, it was a phase I was going through.

That sounds so beast

I've given thought to deleting the muffler from my N1 turboback, wouldn't have to worry about it rusting out. Thought about just unbolting the muffler pipe, so my exhaust would terminate at the rear subframe; easy to reinstall if I don't like it. Maybe I'll give it a try later this week one night :hmm:

I have a turbo back 3 inch HKS to a 5in. carbon fiber tip. i love the way it sounds. I dont have a clip of it revving yet. I will soon, I dont run a cat, nor resonators, it sounds amazing....
