My sunroof has never worked properly so I decided to rip the glass off and see what was going on. What I found was this peice and it is only in the pasenger side tract. It slides freely but the screw behind it (in picture) will not let it slide all the way back. I removed the screw and now this peice slide back and the sunroof works great.

My question now is that this piece isn't touching the sunroof at all after I moved it behind the screw (in front of screw in picture). Is it installed correctly and what is it's function?

Thank you for your help

I ripped my visor shade out, it was moldy and rusting. Looking for something to block the sun out during the day but thats another story.

so then what was the point of posting on this thread? useless information.

OP: i wondered the same question when i replaced my sunroof, i never got an answer for it, but i found that if you find a screw with a flatter head, or can get away with tightening or removing it, that works too. i completely removed the old and installed the new and mine works fine now. i believe its just a mount or bracket screw.
