What is a long rod stroker?

but my main question was what is the rod/stroke angle on the long rod stroker compared to standard displacement and a basic stroker?

The standard 4g64/G4CS 2.4L is a 100mm stroke and 150mm rod deal. Rod ratio is then 1.5:1 The standard 4g63 is a 88mm stroke with the same 1500mm rod which is then 1.70 rod ratio. This extra stroke of 12mm total in the 2.4 is a result of the crank pin being offset 6mm extra on the crank, 6mm up, 6mm down = 12mm total. The long rod 2.4L use the same stroke of 100mm, but the rod is 156mm, and the piston pin is then placed 6mm further up to compensate for this and have the same height at TDC. This results in a slightly better 1.56 rod ratio.

I also believe this same offset piston is used in 2.3L strokers with standard sized 150mm rods.

I think magnus sells a 162mm rod as well as the 156mm

Long rod stroker = waste of money....

The 162mm are for 2.1 engines, 2.0 cranks in 2.4 blocks using pistons with the same wrist pin height as a 2.3 stroker....

Adding 12mm rod to a shorter stroke changes the ratio enough to be worth it...

Adding 6mm to a long stroke has such a minor effect so dont bother..
