what intake is this??

I bought a JDM motor and tranny and i thought that it was a cyclone intake but on closer I was mistaken. I took pictures of my old intake which are the first and the last picture the other two in the middle are the JDM one. They look the same but there some noticeable differences too

Maybe this thread will help, the consensus there is that the intake manifold is a from a Galant VR4 RS Limited Edition: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/277160-my-jdm-pistons-say-63tr.html

It looks to function just like a Cyclone with the butterfly valves and dual runners, it just doesn't say "Cyclone" on it. Here's some pictures of a Cyclone for comparison:

That's really a matter of opinion; it is said the dual-runner manifold will yield better low end torque but make top end suffer slightly. It depends on what you want with your car.

Thanks for the info 19 u have been a great help. U should send me a request as many questions as u answer for me

One last question on this intake...Can u use the cyclone intake with out "activating" it? I know u will loose some of the benefits for sure..but my main goal for now is getting the car running again..and after that start tweaking on a few things here and there...is that sensible to even consider??
