I heard it has to be snell 95 or later approved. I was also told i should just get a snell 2000 approval or better. My question is does it need to be a certain kind of helmet? Example, can i get a snell 2000 motocross helmet and use that for the track? I am looking into buying my own helmet but have no idea where to look or what even to look for. Thanks for all the help in advance.......

well my best is 14.3 so far.....I plan on breaking the 13s the next time at the track. I don't want to get thrown off or anything so i want to pick one up as a precaution. So a DOT/Snell approved helmet is the same across the board? (Autocross, ATV, Motorcycle, Drag)

If your going to get one I would get a snell 2000. That will let you run anywhere. Such as club rally, drag, solo II and I, rallyx

No, if you want to run at the drag strip you might get away with that one but you need to have a snell 2000 approved helmet. I would expect to spend between $75-$300 for a good helmet. I paid $125 for mine and it is approved for the drag strip but AutoX will not allow it, but I wanted a full face flip up helmet.

That one is DOT legal so it won't work? I do not AutoX....I am only looking to drag race.

oh ok...well they don't have to be at the 3 strips i attend. They require a helmet but they don't have to eb full face. I am only looking for one cause i am tired or renting them out and a few other tracks i can run at don't rent them. I am going to get that one and see what happens.
