What do we think about this turbo

I"d like to know how a t3/4 is a "direct bolt on application for a 4g63 motor" as it says in the description. If you've got a couple hundy to spare and a t3 manifold , give it a shot..the worst it could do is explode and send compressor wheel bits into your intercooler and engine :( Then you'd have an excuse to build that nice new motor we all want.. (just kidding i hope you know)

Anyway, I've seen people get flea bay turbos and not have any problems, and I've seen others wear out in a summer. I think some one is just getting junkyard turbos or an overstock from some where ( most likely cores) and doing the cheapest fastest rebuild they can on them and selling them as "new" on ebay.

Well I know I need a manifold and a external wastegate is required along with other upgrades to make it run but how does it compare to a 20g and what would be needed to make this FIT..Now I have a motor with 139k SO this will be its last summer I can tell you that and next winter i want to rebuild it all

I rebuild one of these for a Honda owner once. It wasn't the "E" cover, it was the "B" cover version; but just like most Garrett Hybrids, they use the same internals.

The turbo hadn't been abused....it was on a turbo Honda application where it saw 8-10psi and had plenty of oil. It came to my shop with tons of up/down play.

The internals were completely junked....the turbine shaft had grooved so badly that it couldn't be used. I broke 4 out of 6 bolts that hold the CHRA to the exhaust housing because these chinese turbos use the cheapest hardware they can find. At this point, I realized that the unit wasn't worth rebuilding as the owner would have more in parts and labor than the turbo was worth. I told the guy to find another turbo.

It should also be noted that the compressor wheel is made of cheap-ass pot metal cast aluminum....if the fins are bent even the slightest bit, they break right off. A true Garrett compressor can be straightened and they will not break.

This isn't a core or a rebuild- just another cheap Chinese knockoff turbo. I'd never buy one for my car.

For all that it would take to make this turbo work on your car (oil lines, custom downpipe, T3 manifold) you'd be better off to buy the 20G I'm selling in the classifieds if that's what you're really looking for.
