that big metal box throttle cable runs to, then it runs back to the throttle body..

what to do

Buy a non-cruise throttle cable from one of the fine vendors on this site and remove all the cruise components from the firewall. Not hard at all

Go buy a non cruise throttle cable. Then remove all of your cruise control stuff from the engine bay.

If everything lights up but it doesn't do anything check your vacuum hoses! The guy who worked on my car before I started learning it doing it myself left it unhooked. and for the longest time I thought my cruise control didn't work, when I was changing engines I noticed he had a couple vacuum hoses actually blocked off.

One of them turned out to be the cruise control, hooked it back up and my CC works perfect now LOL.

remove the cruise control and replace with a non-cruise throttle cable. It doesn't take long to do and throttle response is slightly better.

I removed my Big CC Box, took it apart, and used just the inner, I relocate the bracket (Throttle Cable) on top of the AC Compressor (under neath the Intake), and relocate the Vacuum motor inside the car, at the TCU Location,..
Now, I have a cleaner look, and still have the cruise system..:sneaky:
Here is a pics.

How sensitive? Does it change the behaviour of the car in terms of throttle response?

Throttle respond doesn't change, But the pedal gets lighter, which you need to put less force on the pedal.

If you go that route, I would advice, to make the cable longer (Link above Stated), which the engine bounces front and back.
The Cable shown in the link, is to short, which will not clear the movement from the engine, Just make the cable a little longer then that.

Eww, that's not nice.
I'm having work done on my car and the cruise is being removed and reusing existing cables. Hopefully it's not too light.

If so I'll just pick up a used non-cruise cable and do it up.
