Wow, another post in the problem diagnosis forum. Recently I've been having boost loss, which seemed to become noticeable as soon as I installed my Greddy-S BOV. So today I took it off, made sure everything was tight, set it at a medium between soft/hard, put the bolt back on, and put the bov back in. It is recirc'd to the intake. Ever since I reinstalled it, the car will hit high boost and the turbo sounds wwaaay high pitched, and if I go anywhere near 6k rpms in any gear the car will violently jump once. The blow off sounds healthy, but the wind up of the turbo sounds like a bat outta hell. What's going on?
 
what are you boosting at? What did it boost before? Doyou even have a boost gauge? Your bov how is it set up? Is it just the greedy kit that uses the stock upper intercooler piping, or is it upgraded?

Im just going to think your stock right now. Check to see if the wastegate vaccums are hooked up, and you have the correct vaccum line hooked up on the bov. It sounds like the wastegate doesn't open for you.

I am basically stock, with only the bov and an air intake. I do not have a boost guage, and am running the bov off the stock upper intercooler. The wastegate vacuum is not hooked up as of right now, but it was never hooked up before and I never got this response from the car.

so basically saying the pressure source was never connected to the wastegate actuator??
.... if so then thats your problem. The wastegate is never opening because there is not pressure going to the actuator
 
I'd been told that it was not required to have it connected....??? I plan on doing it, just haven't yet.

U've been told wrong.

Id get on that right away. You can destroy the turbo that way, that noise it makes past 6000rpm is the turbo maxing out.

U could f'up you motor too. Depending on how long you chose to drive like that, most likeley the turbo will fail first though.

Once you get that vacuum line hooked up things should be fine.

Okay, where exactly does the other end of the hose connect? there is a "t" shaped splitter with hoses already connected to each end.
