But it kept running right? Had the same thing happen to me on my old Gs. Put some oil in and she kept on going LOL. 420a is great for a dd.

Ya it kept running. Just freaked out a little bit when I pulled the oil stick and didnt see a drop on it. :hellyeah: But def a great DD

You need a head gasket.

So do you.

Join the club- mine's been leaking since 2002 when I bought the car. I just keep adding oil as needed (about a quart every 500-700 miles of daily driving....it doesn't lose a drop on long trips) and every now and again I'll flush out the recovery tank because that's where any oil in the cooling system ends up.

Is this a common issue with the headgasket, leaking oil on the backside of the motor? I assumed it was my VC gasket, replaced it but haven't had time to see if my oil level is still dropping. But wouldn't other indicators present themselves? Such as water in the oil or oil in water. I just assumed my VC since I can see on the back on the motor the oil saturation starts from the fuel rail and goes all the way down. Just thought headgasket assumption was a big conclusion to jump to without further indications.
