Know that i finally got a second car again I can finally start working on my eclipse. First off I was planning on going with Maft, 550's , and a Keydiver chip, But I have also been searching DSM link what would be the better way to go?? Second and most important what can I get rid of out my engine bay to clean things up and make it as simple as possible?? Obviously I am moving the Battery to the trunk, axing the cruise control and i was hoping to get rid of all the stock mas stuff, but what else can I get rid of I mean the less stuff the better for me wires hoses etc. Keep in mind this is still going to be a street car not everyday but i will drive it alot.

O.O i was just told "good stuff" by a wiseman thats a first. i was expecting another infraction! its my lucky day i better go buy a lottery ticket.

Get rid of all the vacuum lines. Then put new ones on the following: BOV, boost controller, fpr, boost gauge, and map sensor if you get one.

Get rid of any emissions equipment that the hoses you just got rid of went to.

Get rid of the a/c compressor, lines, and condensor.

Get rid of the power steering pump and lines.

Eliminate any extra plugs you have from the things you just took off.

That should keep you busy for a bit. Come back when you are done.

Agree. Heres my engine bay. As you can tell I like my space. This car is also a daily driver. If you elimintate the power steering I'd recomend a manual steering rack. Its not necessary but it makes things pretty easy. Get rid of the ABS if you have it.

^ Good stuff.

You can also get rid of a lot of vacuum lines by deleting your emissions.

There's probably a host of other things that people have removed. Look at the 1g's that are strictly built for racing to get some good ideas.

heck yea... or you can buy a piece of rust considered a talon that was originally made for canada that has hardly any emissions:thumb:

but keep cruise control, that shits amazing when you are driving long distances... just if you need to extend all your wires and lines and tuck em down in the fender well, and that goes with everything up top, extend and sink, just take your time and use soder... it be amazing

Ahh! MBC tapped into bov line! Venting on a stock 2g MAS!

Bah, cruise control. My Eclipse was the first car I had that came equipped with cruise. And since I was so used to not using it, it just took up space. I've driven the car on a 5+ hour trip without using it, so it went. It definitely clears up a lot of room in the engine bay :thumb:
