Alright guys...

My rotors are rusty and I was thinking about upgrading the brakes since I think they would match the car good and look awesome. My question is, which big brake kit should I get? I heard about the AEM, are they any good and has anyone pics of the installed?

Please let me know asap. Im going to buy them soon. Thanks

I like my Baer Brakes.

They work great, look great. You shouldn't have an issue as far as daily driver. The are basically the same two piston calipers that came on the mid 90s corvette.

Depending on what you have now...

Im going to go with late 1g/2g 2 piston calipers with SS lines, brembo rotors and metal master pads.

http://www.thespeedfactor.com/brakefest.html I just ordered some dimpled and slotted rotors from the speed factor along with axxis metal master pads. His prices are good and they have a sale going on. check it out. And, you can IM marty, part owner of speedfactor, on aol messeger. SN is thespeedfactor. Great guy to talk to and will answer any question you throw at him.

I just did '96 Diamante LS twin-piston calipers up front with cross-drilled and slotted (for the sake of frugality) rotors with metal master pads, DOT4 RBF 600 Fluid and RRE lines. Wow, what a difference. Stopping power is incredible. I'm in the break-in process right now ... But in about 20 miles, I should be able to REALLY test them. But the pedal is firm and direct, with completely linear response to pedal pressure. Did everything for about $450. Well worth the money if you are doing time trials or autocross, IMHO. They beat the crap out of the dinky single-piston calipers and 10" rotors.

I think a great combination, but still on a budget would be:

-3000 GT SL Two piston calipers
-Axxis Metal Master pads
-AEM Big Brake Rotor Kit
-Goodridge steel brake lines
-Motul 600 fluid

The Willwoods, or Brembo Gran Turismo's, AP Racing, etc...etc...cost a WHOLE lot more than this set-up.
Also keep in mind what contributes MOST to stopping power: TIRES.
If you've the $3000 Brembo Gran Turismo brake kit, but $25 Walmart 165/70/14R tires, your car won't stop for $hit.
Whereas, if you've got the above set-up, with Hoosier 275/50/15R tires, your car will more likely stop on a dime.

(Although, in a perfect world, close to perfect would be the Hoosier's, with the Brembo Brake kits.)
