for just the shortblock build, what am I forgetting


2g shortblock list:

I will reuse my empty block, crank, girdle.

oil pump front case (ask if it comes with 2gears and 3 seals)
2gaskets
castle plug and oring

4crush washers, red loctite, 4 new oil squirters

new OEM mains

BSE Kit

Manley pistons and rings, and Manley rods .020 over

ACL Bearings? or does the machinist have to check things before I order them?


am I forgetting anything?

plastiguage, lube, torque wrench, and engine stand...new water pump wouldnt hurt either as well as all new timing assembly...btw i got my oil pump form jackson auto machine for like 205 shipped and it came with both gears and gaskets. Piston ring compressor to...this is if you plan on building yourself....what head gasket are you going to use?

well im thinking of dogbox building my engine. I'm just trying to see if I got everything

build it yourself and save the money. I literally have 275 in machine work, 500 for pistons and rods, 100 dollars in bearings, 90 bucks for arps, about 250 inmisc, stuff,,,lube, torque wrench, stand, plastiguage, 205 for oil pump, 70 for water pump, 220 for timing assembly, and 55 for BSE. I would say around 1850 including cometic mls. U can barely guild a short block with forged internals for that much. Plus you get the feeling of accomplishment when you get to fire it up and tell everyone YOU built it.
