Well one of my fog lights burned out last night so I'm looking for a new set for my 1g gsx just wanted some input on what you guys think would look good on there so let me know what you think thanks!

Umm why replace the fog lights when you can just replace the bulb?

I say keep the OEM fogs since they fit the bumper perfectly and thusly won't look weird or out of place.

Cibie also makes good fog light stuff. Look at the name on the stock 1gA fogs :)

This /thread stuff is getting annoying lately. Especially when it's an implied or inside joke not everyone gets.

I would replace the bulb but i don't really like the fogs that are on there anyway so i'm just gonna replace them but thanks for everyone's input.

I'd check out Pilot, they've got quite a lot of different options.

Get PIAA fog lights, they are untouchable as far as quality goes and you will hate yourself for going with a cheap shitty brand. I had to go thru 3 sets to find this out.

I have these for sale, they are brand new in box. PM me and let me know

Sorry to burst your bubble but those aren't fog lights, they're auxiliary driving lights, basically almost high beams.

Its ok you didn't I like being able to see long distances in front me it turns out and especially at night.

Either way I'm selling them since this car has real headlights, where my old one had a set of checker fog lights for headlights when i first bought them.

I was just saying, not meaning to insult, that fog lights serve a certain function, and that is to light up the road right in front of the car, and wide to the side. When you turn on high beams the fog lights turn off for a reason other than maximum candlepower. Fog lights are supposed to be a very wide and low shining beam, not projected at all. I put 4300K HID bulbs in my 1gA housings and I'll never look back. If I turn the fogs off while driving with headlights it's like I went from a constant xenon flash bulb to a cheap flash light. They really fill in the light to the sides.

I agree with the width on fog lights, but most people don't care about that shit.

I do, because i have bad vision.

Most people think any light that isn't a head light is a fog light. They inspected cars at the oil change place I worked and people would call the auxiliary highs on the new Mustangs fog lights. They clearly aren't. They're at the same level as the headlights and project narrow beam. Not too good for vision in fog. Any of these little projectors project a circular beam, and it will light up the fog itself, which isn't what a fog light is supposed to do. It's not so much the width of the pattern, but it's that it is flat and has a cutoff, much like a real HID projector.

I know if you have a 1gb Talon with the Marshals, Autozone Fog Lights (The ones that look just like the Marshals) with 4300-6000k HID is an Intense Fog Light! Insane Wide Angle and lights up the ground better than anything I've seen. I miss my Talon for that reason. You could be in a building or helicoptor and see the light change from my White HID Fog Lights to my "Blueish" HID Low Beams and the distance was amazing.

And here's a bad photo. But the idea was to show how much better of a fog light it was. Left is Stock Fog Light with Stock Low Beam, Right is Stock Low Beam With AutoZone/HID Fog Light Combo.

I shouldn't have taken it on a rounded road but ehh. If you were there you would have seen that it lit up almost a perfect 180 degrees in front of the car and actually lit up the ground better than the stock low beams did. I had to install HID's in the Low Beams to notice any sort of low beam.

Also listen to Ramsack, Do a test... in high fog, or snow, turn on your high beams! You'll notice how your visibility just got bi*** slapped. You don't want that in snow or fog. What you want it something that points at the ground mainly to show the ground.

Very Nice! Looks exactly how mine looked. Loved how you polished up the stock Fogs. I replaced mine because they looked like they were melted. Like the lens had bubbles in it and one of the Marshal faces were gone. So I just tried looking for a fog light that was similar to the Stock ones. Plus the Stock 1gb's dont use H3 bulbs. They have some strange bulb.... I gotta say that shit looks sick. I used a 35W 6000k H3 HID Kit. Some NO Named Brand but it worked and was beautiful! The HID's are still in use today in my Jeep after going from my Talon, to my Bike and then to my Jeep's front Fogs.

Ya the 1gB fogs are crappy compared to the 1gA. Cibie made the 1gA housings, I have no idea about the 1gB. The 1gB also takes a stupid bulb. I'd like to get a 1gB car, and I don't want to part with these fogs, so I gotta find out how I could make them fit when the time comes, and if there's even the same bolt holes on the frame. I might just try to find brand new housing because the reflectors are kind of corroded. Or get them recoated by an optics company.

Right, and not so much the ground right in front, also because fog doesn't reach the ground, so they take advantage of this to shine some light under the fog to light up some stuff ahead without lighting up the fog itself. I can't wait to see how bright these are in the snow.

Well the main part about fog is you can't see the road for shit. So the fog light is supposed to stay under your periferal(sp) vision and illuminate the road under the fog so you have better visibility.

The fog lights I just posted for 1gb is the way to go man. They are similar in size to the stock 1gb fog lights, use a H3 Bulb. And when paired with HID's, they put out some Impressive light. I'll put money on it that you'll be impressed. I'll guarantee the cost of the HID's :) that you'd enjoy. Soo many people were astonished with the light my fogs put out.

Umm why replace the fog lights when you can just replace the bulb?

Does anyone know the bulb type (ie H3, 9006, 9004) for the 1Ga fog lights? I'd like to see if I can replace mine.
I read that the bright gold/yellow type bulbs offer the best visibility for fog lights, so before anyone calls "rice" on me, I'm trying to be practical, not riced-out, heheh.

H3 is the bulb type. The Selective Yellow color they used to use is good to be seen, it's a sketchy subject whether removing the blues from white light will help you see better. 4300k is slightly yellow and is the color temperature with the most actual light output. The HID kits are usually only 4500k, which does appear bluer.

Leds ftw

I know this is not a dsm but I love my fogs 4watt leds 8 on each side and I know its hard to tell but these are brighter then most headlights at night LOL. Had a buddy make them for me

They look cool, too bad LED tech hasn't advanced enough to actually project light yet. They seem to be really bright to view, but have no power to project and reflect back light.
