I was going to get the AGP rst49 50 trim, but after the things i've read, i am not. So whats a good 50 trim turbo, i going with a 38mm external WG, want it to spool at 3800, and price around the agp,so what are some goods ones to get, looking to get in the lower 12's

thanks

I would recommend that as well, but I ordered it about 3-4 weeks ago and PTE says the center cartridges are still on back order. I'll get it 'eventually' they tell me. Last I check SBR still had them in stock, but since I already paid before I knew SBR had them, I figure I'll wait it out.

Yes please do. I am very interested to see what spool-up is on the BB cartridge.

I have SBR's G50 (50 trim) turbo. I have had it for about 5 months now and I have no complaints other then the turbine housing. Its not very big. Its a turbonetics CHRA and turbine housing w/ SBR's custom compressor cover. AGP sells the same CHRA w/ a turbonetics polished compressor cover but w/ Bullseyes turbine housing, which IMO is the shit! I now have a Bullseye housing on my turbo and love it! It is quite a bit larger than the turbonetics piece, and it is made of cast steel rather and iron like turbonetics piece.
I hit 20 psi by 3700 rpm's and 25psi by 4000 in 3rd gear. It is covered under turbonetics 1 year no hassle warranty, which is a plus, and the price is about the same as AGP's. When I bought the turbo I had it internally gated, however even w/ a high pressure actuator and Bullseyes 38mm flapper, and o2 dump it still will not hold adequete boost at 25 psi, so this winter it is getting a Tial 38mm on the manifold. So just go external from the start.

Please do - you'll be the first to give it a review as far as I know. I know a lot of people bought them already..guess nobody wants to give feedback :(

AGP has the same warranty but the only problem with the warranty is it takes over a month to get to get it back! Not to good if it's your daily driver.

you can get low 12's on a 16g. I have in my full weight 2g. Just takes some time with learning how to tune and drive properly.

You can get into the 12's easily on a 14b actually... I remember when 16g's were the cream of the crop.. Now, 50 trim this 50 trim that.. That's all I ever hear. I think it's an overused over-rated term anymore.

i know, i just want a 50 trim w/ external WG and see what i can get for 1/4 with bigger injecotrs of course

i just recently put on the rs49t, i have no complaints about it whatso ever. Spools before 4K, easy instal, did not have to dent water pipe or anything. Good customer service as well. I know many people with turbos from AGP and see no problems

Well I finally got it all back together... It's wet and snowing here so I couldn't give it a good test yet but It spools about 500 rpm faster than the rs49t. At 20 psi the rs49t was about 3900 and the scm5031bb at 3400. I'll give a better review next dry day!

Sorry to bring this back to life but how has that scm5031bb been treating you? Any problems? Dyno runs?

I finally got most of the bugs worked out of my system. Still waiting for the external gate set-up, but I've got boost set to 18psi now. I hit 20psi at 3300 RPM and creep to about 25psi. Pushing those boost levels, the car feels dangerously fast. This is where the 50 trim outshines my old EVO III. I feel that with more tuning I can bring spool-up down even more as I have a very rich tune at the moment.

Only issues I had was clearance between my tubular 90* oil feed bend that fits to the oil restrictor on top of the center housing, and the exhaust manifold.

so its been a while... any more updates on the bb pte 5031? Johnfsmith, blackgsx2g.... what kind of power are you making? Spool up times (engine size/compression ratio also please)... any trips to the track yet? How has the turbo performed? Ive been doing a lot of searching lately and am torn between whether or not to get the bb version of this turbo or not. Im pretty sure im going to get one of the new sbr mani's with a tial 38mm with it to control boost.

Just trying to see some updates on this turbo from people that are using it... sorry to bring this thread back, but at least im searching!
