I'm looking to replace my current FMIC top to bottom flow with a side to side flow FMIC.
I want to get a good size that will fill the bumper up nicely but I would still like to keep my bumper support. So my question is: Should I get a fmic that has a height of 8" or one that has a height of 12"

I would rather go with the 8" height but I'm not sure if it will fill the bumper up nicely.

Any suggestions are appritiated. Pics are appritiated as well

Anything over 7" (you can probably stretch 8") you will have to cut your stock fiberglass bumper. It's really up to you what type of FMIC you want to get. IMHO, a taller (10"+) FMIC will have the cooling surface area enough to support you throughout your endeavors. As far as the 12" kits, like the SBR one, I think that is the top limit of how high an FMIC is able to go on a DSM (It literally is 6" higher than the top opening of your bumper and sits right below the latch mechanism).

I myself run the 10.5" SSAC kit and love it :thumb:
