95 gsx 5 speed

6 bolt engine with 1g head swap
1g intake manifold
1g throttle body
ported b16g turbo
cat eliminating down pipe
full exhaust(not sure which one yet)
intake

I have a manual boost controller and boost gauge, what PSI should i be runnign with all the stock intercooler piping and BOV?

and future mods of
injectors
fuel pump
FMIC
greddy type S BOV

UFDA!! And I thought I had it rough..........what happend to your lets see...1..2.....3!!! trannys anyways??!?!!?

i dont want to spend moeny for stock intercooler piping when im going to be switching to a FMIC eventually. Or can i swap these parts over when i do the frount mount?

just resell the piping later on ... you CAN reuse it but most likely your fmic setup will then use long route piping which is not what most people prefer. Yea and get at least a 1g bov so you can hold more than 12-13 psi.

Yep .. lucky number 4 is on the way. Broke 3rd gear on the 1st one .. then 2nd gear on the next one ... now 4th gear.

if u still runnin the stock upper pipe, then ur car is still slow, the day i got the uicp pipe replaced along with a 1g bov, the car basically woke up and i think dat should be the first mod on a 2g. i had intake and full 3 inch exhaust and i was disappointed until that mod and bam the car just woke up and finally felt quick. i even blew the lower intercooler pipe off the intercooler cause it was finally seein BOOST. i just ran a 13.6 with a ported 14b and manifold at 19 psi on stock sidemount with a 1.9 60 foot....which means i can do much better with a 1.8 or lower 60 foot. i also have a 255 fuel pump, afc ,act 2600 and fidanza flywheel. the 2g bov also leaks so u cant run too much boost specially on a bigger turbo.

ps: remove the spare tire and jack and shed as much weight as possible. i would also run some higher octane so u reduce chances of knocking and go to the track on a cool and non humid night.

GOOD LUCK

thanks for the advice. So i should be able to drop down into low 13's high 12's with the stock side mount? It would be nice to not have to run all the extra money for a FMIC. I saw the greddy intercooler piping kit with the type s blow off valve on ebay for like 275.

What PSI should i run once i get the intercooler piping and blow off valve?

Thanks for all the advice and help

The best thing would be to get a fmic of course, but untill you can afford it I would do what other have said and buy a used uicp and upgraded bov. Then when you can afford it get the fmic and you can sell your uicp for about the same price that you paid for it so you don't really loose anything. There have been people run high 11's on the stock sidemount. The whole purpose of the intercooer is to cool down the intake charge and the stock sidemount can accomplish this in the 1/4 mile if it's sprayed down and allowed to cool down between runs. Now if you go run after run and don't allow it to cool down then the stock sidemount becomes wothless. Good luck

when you have the upgraded uicp and bov with a B16g (I think that's what you said you would be running) I would run 15-16psi around town on pump. When you go to the track you can crank it up to 20-22 psi on race gas if your properly tuned.
