So I picked up a set of 5 spoke 97 gst wheels for $150 :thumb: and there is a hairline crack on the inside of one of the wheels and it doesn't hold air. I was wondering if this could be welded or will that throw off the balance too much.

It can be welded, and it can be re-balanced. However, I wouldn't trust it for more than a "yard rig" so to speak. The heat of the weld could very well alter the structural properties of the wheel. I wouldn't trust it.

I can see fixing a light bend or a flat spot, maybe even some low heat cosmetic repair on some curb rash.

I've seen people "cold weld" their alloy wheels and they've held up but I personally would toss that wheel, and order one from a junk yard.

Marshall's Auto Parts - Home seems to have one for $40.00 + shipping
