I'm having my oil pan worked on and after there done with it i was going to drive it home with open o2 housing and put the exhaust back on at home.
is there any negative side affects to doing this.
one thing i thought of is boost creep. if i stay of the gas can it get me home till i can put it back on?

Could you at least just put the downpipe on? Lots of people run open downpipe. The only concern I would have running it open o2 is how close those fumes/heat would be to the engine bay. You might fry something...

That would just be my personal preference though, no supporting evidence of anything ever going wrong... I just had to drive mine across town once and I didn't have the exhaust and I just put the downpipe on to be safe...

I would see it as possibly running very rich.
