Weird noises coming from rear

Hey all,

When i make right hand turns in my car, wether it be in a parking lot or on the road, im getting noises from my rear end that sound like clunking and chunking.. Im thinking it might be bearings.. What could this noise possibly be??

I hate to be the one to say this but it could be the center diff. Do you know if the tires are skiping when you make turns or do you just get noise? If you are just getting noises and the car drives normaly then it could be the gears in the rear end are messed up or that a pice of the spline for the rear axel could have broken. I don't think its the later your car would be fwd if you broke the splin on the rear axel. Give me alittle more info about how the car acts when you make turns.

It "could" be an axle, but I'm willing to bet AZRAEL is correct.

Well, you can rip around turns as fast as you want, and no the tires dont skip or anything, and both back wheels are locking up and spinning in the snow its not peg legging, but when u go around right hand turns it sounds like bearings being jumpled around, its not something you can feel, you can only hear it and it does not affect the performance of the car at all..

have you checked the fluid to see if there are metal chunks in the fluid? Also it may not be your year end. My car makes a noise like that but only when i cruise at one speed it is my muffler pipe. You also might want to check th U joints in the drive shaft they could make the same kind of noise. The easy way to check them is get under your car and try to move your drive shaft up and down or left to right if it has play it could be the U joints making the noise.
