Well I was coming back from the bar tonight and got on my car and when i went to shift to forth i accidently hit seceond and shot my rpm's up to 8500 i thought for sure i did something but everything sounded good til about a mile away from my house i heard something that sounded like it was raddling around the drivers side engine bay. i got home popped the hood and took a look. I revved it up and i heard a rattle noise coming from the drivers side. possible spun bearing? any insight would be appreciated thanks!

btw oil pressure is not budging

is it knocking at all?

i had to replace my balance shafts cause the bearing wore and caused knocking and i had to replace my rod bearings cause i spun one and broke two, 4 and 3...

best thing to do before posting here is to pull the oil pan, yours questions should be answered then.

No ticking no knocking no oil pressure... I am gonna pull the pan off this weekend and see but i did pull the dip stick and i am pretty sure i seen specs of fragment. Anyone know where to get a decent but inexpensive rebuild kit>/?

also i took it out for a spin today and it ran just as good as it did before i spiked the rpms. its not making a damn noise but i am still not getting any oil pressure that i know of looking at the gauge. Also my temp gauge is staying steady at half. wouldnt this be going up if there was no oil getting to the rings? any insight before till i get than pan pulled?

number you should NOT be out driving this car around... not smart at all.

no oil pressure:

lets start with the most basic possibility. on the back of the oil pressure sending unit there is a connection, if that has 'slipped' off, which it does, then your guage will read 0.
here are some pics to better help you find it:

this would be my guess. because no matter what you should have SOME oil pressure.

PULL THE PAN AND STOP DRIVING IT!!

Pulled the pan NO FRAGMENTS! Also opened up the oil cap to see how oil pressure was and it is still hitting the head so i am good just bad sensor i guess or it came off thanks for the help guys!

no fragements doesnt mean no problems... you need to move your rods and check for play, and check the balance shaft bearings...

if you have 0 oil pressure how would pulling the valve cap raise the pressure.....

and why didnt you check that connection? did you check your timing?

i dont see how you can get anywhere without checking important things

LOL no i was just checking to see if i was getting oil to the cams.
I did check timing to see if i skipped any teeth still dead on.
as for pulling the rods hmmmmmmmm i will and i am in gonna check the connection, just short on time with my job lately... thanks again!

Yeah, that's great and all that you got oil pressure but is the tapping still there? A wire that's not connected isn't a reason for why your engine was tapping.

it was there in the begining but i noticed i was a quart or so short on oil so i dumped some in and it went bye bye... havent noticed it since...
