I got out of school and got in the car and found that the clutch pedal would drop to the floor. Checked fluid, still in there. Pump clutch. good for a second then after disengaging the clutch (with the car off) back to the floor. Start the car, pump the pedal pressure is back. As long as I am driving pressure is good with a little pumping of the pedal. Does not go to the floor. Normal shifting, nothing other then clutch pressure.

Stop driving your car around before you kill the transmission.

Fluid resevore lost a little bit of fluid. Nothing to be concerned about.

It is a concern. It doesn't just disappear. Check the master cylinder and slave cylinder for leaks. Get under the dash and feel for fluid on the firewall under and around the push rod. And pull back the rubber dust boot on the slave cylinder to see if there is any fluid in there.

Just replaced stock line with a ss one from the slave to the master. Bled the clutch. Holds pressure for about a minute. Now the pedal still goes to the floor but only the first time you press it, after you pull it from the floor it has pressure. wtf? The slave cylinder is not leaking and neither is the master from outside or inside the car. I bought a new slave cylinder from ebay and will try that. (fingers crossed) Anybody have any ideas on what is going on?

Ok I have replace the slave cylinder and now have pressure but there is still play half way through the clutch press. I push in half way until I get pressure and then the clutch engages at the floor. I dont know if there is still air in the line and I need to keep bleeding, or if I need a longer slave cylinder rod. Any help would be great.

Have you adjusted the linkage out on the master cylinder to get rid of some of that play?

Ok I adjusted it out. It was out already but I adjusted it even further. Just to about where I could see the end of the rod about half way in the nut. On the vfaq it said to use pliers to turn the rod. I was able to use my hand manipulated in a fashion.

Is that nomal?
Next question, the bracket that the rod screws in to, is it sapose to move when you touch it?

Anyway I will test drive and see if it works. It feels better just by pressing it with my foot. I also re-blead the master cylinder and this time the slave cylinder. I have to mention that I recently purchased a brake bleeder kit from Advanced Auto and it works great. It was on sale for 6.99 and is worth far more then that. I had to do this on my own. The part number is: AC558 buy it you will not regret it.

So I drove the car today and so far so good. Holds pressure all the way through the press. I would like to add that at no time was my slave or master leaking. Fluid level was always good. The only thing I did different was replace the slave and bleed the slave.
