Okay here is the deal, I have a stock 99 GSX, well it does have an Injen intake, but that is the extent of it. Now I just installed an Autometer boost gauge and am getting some weird readings. When I really get on it the gauge reads about 20 psi then settles back down eventualy to about 14-15. At about half throttle, normal exceleration she reads about 14-15. Does this sound right? Oh I tapped the hose for the reading that is coming off the fuel pressure reg. going to the manifold.

As soon as u floor the gas pedal and the needle spikes out to 20 psi then settles, this is boost spike, it is pretty much normal. What it settles to is what boost you are running.

Besides, if you were running anything more then 14 to 15 psi on your stock fuel system, u would be hitting fuel cut, and believe me, you would know if u did that.

Okay I was thinking it was a spike, is this normal? As in going to hurt anything? I mean I don't think it would, I haven't done anything to the car yet..LOL

no, it won't hurt anything, like i said, it's normal.

my car gs-t that i sold only came stock at 11 psi, i had to get a boost controller to get to 15psi.

Hey another quick one, what should be vac. read at idle? Most of the time it is at 0 but after running for a bit, about 30 miles or so, it will read a bit under zero, that normal? What would it read if I had a leak?

your gauge reads a bit under zero?? if thats the case then you need to check all your vac lines and such. I have all the un necessary vac lines removed from my car and im reading about 10vac so you need to get under the hood and check things out.
