Hey guys I have a 3" GM MAF but no translator. I'm not in a hurry to hook it up, I just want to get my car running. In the next couple weeks, I hope to have it running, then I'll buy DSM Link.

My question is, with DSM Link and the GM MAF, what is better to tune with: a wideband 02 sensor or a 3 bar MAP? Also, is one easier to install or cheaper? What route should I go?

lokmeup from the DSMlink forums (who made the tuning guides) states the athe WB route is a more constiant way of tuning in this thread: http://www.dsmlink.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4711&highlight=tuning+wideband PS until you purchase DMSlink you will not be able to view this thread I linked so I copied the post here:

I find the WBO2 AFR to be much more consistent with this method of tuning.

I never experience any bogging between shift with the tuning using the WBO2. The only problem I had before the new method was the nasty little lean bump in AFR around 3500rpms. That was annoying to try to tune out with the WBO2 tuning method.

I used the boost source to retune the MAFt because I did not have accurate airflow readings and wanted my logs to correctly represent the car. As a plus, after getting the airflow readings accurate, my injector duty cycle went down.

I like the WB method as well.
