:dsm: I drive a 95 gs-t, 95K miles, etc. I do regular maintainence myself, and before I took it to the track today I made SURE it was mechanically sound. (no blowby, all sensors a go, the works). I had never been to the track, so I wasn't exactly used to the tree, but I got the hang of it after a while. I only have basic mods, port/polished throttle body, 3 in. downpipe, 3in. straight pipe (nocat), compressor bypass valve, the basics. My best time was a 15.8. Maybe it's just me, but even if I am that bad at driving, it should still run better than almost a second slower than STOCK. Any thoughts would help. Oh, and if there is another forum I should have posted this on, let me know.

Track conditions:

5300 ft. above sea level
73 degrees F
19% humidity
Absolute baro 24.01

Did I start in a bad place with tuning? :dsm:

Maybe you couldn't hook with all that torque you're making! :D That is a bad time. Two summers ago, when I had full N1 exhaust, an intake and BOV... I made a 14.9 @ 99mph. Mind you I had to lift a few times 'cause the wheel-hop was so intense. So intense, that my tanny blew that run. Never even got to try again. Damn wheel-hop. It's on tape somewhere, but I'll never find it. Oh, and I had my current suspension mods as well.

5300ft elevation may have something to do with that, that makes you like 1 second slower right there doesnt it?

no he should be lighter ROFL

it doesn't look too bad.

i run 15.7 with my pretty much stock 95 tsi awd(bov, filter, short shifter), but i think i can do better.

2300fl above sea level

and i think there is something wrong with the dyno # u got.

Do you have an exhaust? On your post it says downipe and test pipe but no mention of exhaust. If you are running stock exhaust with 3"dp + test pipe you might not really see any gains with those. Also a bov is not really going to give you hp gains unless your boosting more than stock and its not really gains it just holds more psi without leaking. so basically with the info given I would think that your mods are really not being used to the fullest. A port/polished throttle body gives you very minimal gains. probably around 4-5 hp at most. the only way your going to see gains with your mods is if you have an exhaust system. I would also throw in a boost controller. I think there was definately something wrong with your dyno run. there is no way your gonna run 147 hp and 400lbs+ if tq. stock numbers should be around 170 or so on hp and tq around the same. to run 400+ tq you would have to be at around 400 hp and i dont think you are there with your mods.

ETs [ your 15.8 ] only indicate how well, or crappy you drive. We need the trap speed as a comparison... it will give a far better reading of wether your car is running like crap, or if you need to drive it more.

I would also think your elevation plays a big role in your time.

yea, the dyno must have errored somehow at some point during that run.

look at his dyno, it shows he got 2 runs. the 'base' run he pulled 144fwhp, and 188ft lbs of torque, which seems pretty correct.

Well not only that look closer at the base run.
Its saying he was pulling 144FWHP @ 4500.0 MPH and his torque was fudged up too.
If I were you buddy I'd go back to those guys and slap each of those operators in the face and demand your money back.

IT's elevation, this was at bandimere right? Well at bandimere i ran 14.7 with minor mods stock exhaust. it's a mix of fwd and elevation. For advice all i can say is more mods :thumb:.
Ryan :talon:

buy a boost controller.... and launch that bi*** out of the hole like claws.

(also awd helps :thumb: )

before we give you any more suggestions, give us all the stats you were given on that run
