I want to know the benefits of running a water-cooled waste-gate are? Thanks and this is a serious question too. Thanks.

I'm not sure why you would need a water cooled waste gate because, most of the time off shore boats that are turbocharged run a water jacket in the turbine housing to keeps temps at a controlled level let alone a water jacketed wastegate. The only reason for that is because their engines deisel usually or gasoline are located inboard and with the kind of heat produced in such a confined space things could heat up and melt. It's not performance oreinted, it's lets make it home oriented.

OI wouldnt really care if my wastegate got hot. It wont be as near as hot as the turbine housing or manifold. No point in a watercooled Wastegate. Thats like Vtec, pointless. In all seriousness though, I think you have something confused. To my knowledge theres no such thing.

Apexi used to sell watercooled wastegates a long time ago, don't know if they still do, but the purpose was to prevent the wastegate valve and diaphragm from melting due to high heat.
