I was making the 50 mile trip I usually make to my brothers house, about 15miles before his exit I noticed a tiny bit of smoke in the inside. I also noticed the heat had hit the max. When I pulled off, I stopped at a light and then a whole lot of smoke started coming out from under the hood. I just put emergency lights and went out to check. I had almost no oil, so I filled up on oil. I had pulled in to a gas station and let it sit for about an hour. I uncapped the coolant cap and then steam came out and it was also empty I bought some coolant from the gas station and filled her up. waited some time and then turned it on, I heard a leak and it was the exhaust manifold. It was leaking and coolant was coming out of it. I have gotten two possible problems from other DSMers. 1)warped head(sure hope not:cry:) 2)bad headgasket(hope this is it)

what do you guys/gals think of this??

P.S sorry for the long story, maybe it helps.

With a bad headgasket I think you would have noticed all the white smoke coming out your tailpipe WAY before it blew like that. I did.

Sorry. But no coolant, no oil. You better jump up and down with joy if you ONLY warped the head. You're going to need to check that sucker from top to bottom. Oil starvation is no laughing matter.

Start with a compression check and a leakdown. Then get that head off and in to a machine shop to check. Then you just go from there depending on what you learn

But hey...until you check it you won't know for sure. Maybe you just had the most glorious "FUBARING" of a HG that I've ever heard of. :) Good luck.

Don't forget to have the head checked in case it cracked. Happen to me on a 5hr road trip and starved the engine of coolant. I was left on the side of the road with melted fan shrouds and a cracked head. All started because I put my FMIC on.

Well when I went later to pick the car up, my brother drove it back to his job and it was smoking like hell. I was following him and the smoke was so thick I couldn't see anything in front of me.
