warped exhaust manifold-HOW DO I FIX IT

I know people file turbo hot-sides if there off but can it be done on manifolds how would I bring it down that much?

First off, that's a ton of warp. At that point you can either buy a new one or take it to a machine shop to have it milled down. Chances are its more cost effective to buy a new one. However, if you're patient and have a 55 gallon drum barrel of elbow grease handy, a straight surface such as a granite top or glass top, sandpaper and some of that grease will work. It might take you a week of straight sanding but it could work.

That is a cheap china stainless manifold. What you should really do is bolt it down to the head and see if it straightens out. Those manifolds are easy to bend around and some head might straighten it out.

I think I may be OK it seemed to have straitened out. could I use a copper gasket or is that to thin?

Seemed to straighten out pretty well. A composite gasket might be a better choice. But with that said we almost ALWAYS install 4 layer evo gaskets on 4g's at the shop.

I recall reading about some members having the copper gaskets blow out. Their experience was that they worked very well initially but didn't last that long. But I have no personal experience with them.

Seemed to straighten out pretty well. A composite gasket might be a better choice. But with that said we almost ALWAYS install 4 layer evo gaskets on 4g's at the shop.

I'm using the 4 layer EVO gasket as well. I've had the exhaust manifold off a few times and reused the gasket (ideally you shouldn't) and it's still sealing perfectly.

I have the FFWD copper manifold gasket and have had it now for around 5000 hard mile. I haven't had a problem with it. I also have two broken exhaust studs and it still seals it up great. I recommend them.
