Its not to bad at all! Follow the Vfaq at vfaq.com and when it says break the nuts on the line loose listen to it or be ready with a bucket when u pull the pump off the assembly. I couldn't get mine loose so i skipped that step and when i pulled the pump off it shot gas all over the place.

Hehehe. I'll be sure to follow it step by step. The high pressure one is okay, right? I noticed they have two types.

You're going to need a fuel pressure regulator for that pump because it overruns the stock regulator. Some people run the stock regulator on a 255 without problems however it is likely you will need to upgrade to a aftermarket regulator.

Here's a link the vfaq on installing the pump.

You don't absolutely need an FPR. I ran a Walbro 255 on the stock fpr without any problems. You will run rich at idle but I honestly couldn't tell any difference performance-wise with the exception of the louder whine noise from the pump. The only reason I got an FPR is for my larger injectors.

if you have not bought the 255 yet don't buy it buy the 190 instead. The 190 supplies way more than enough fuel and its easier to tune with becuase it doens't flucuate as much as the 255, not to mention the 255 makes you run way way way to rich unless you have a afpr which is not needed with a 190

No, but you'll wish you had bought one.

I am running 550's 255hp and no fpr right now...idle is lumpy, and partial throttle response is crap.

I highly reccomend an afpr.

If you dont plan on making big HP then just get the 190. It will have far less problems that the 255. If you know that you are going to make big HP, and be honest with your self, then get the 255. There are a few people that say you dont need a FPR but you will if you get the 255 so that will be an additional cost.

What qualifies as big hp? Would mid high 12s warrent the 255 or 255hp? Im torn on which fuel pump i should get and no need to spend extra money, everyone is saying, get the 255 cause youll prob wish you did later on. But with 550s, 2g mas, afc and the 255 (need a reg to have good idle) will it be overkill?

If you are going to feed something bigger than a 20G I would o with a 255, but that is just me. Most people are cool with a 16G and 550's that woudl not NEED a 255 so a 190 would be nice. I have a 255 but that is becaseu I will be using an aftermarket FPR and I will be stepping up to a 50 trim from a 20G so I will USE and NEED the extra fuel.

People have also gone 11s on a 14b......would i be sacrificing anything (reliability, etc) by pushing the 190 to that. Say I want to go for low12s at that point....new fuel pump needed?
