I just installed this unit along with a rewire kit. I expected it to be very loud especially since my back seats are out along with all the trim in the hatch area. I didnt even have the cover plate back on. It may have been just hair louder than the stock unit; kinda like a low "neeeeeeeeeeeeee" sound...is it normal for this unit to be that quiet? I dont have an afpr yet. I do have a logger. Should my fuel trims be rich?

I am pretty sure I did my wiring correct. Here are some pics. I drilled a small hole in the fuel assembly cap and ran the pos and neg wires from the pump directly to my power source from the rewire relay and to a ground in the hatch area. My o2 voltage when i revved to 2300 rpm was at .96.

You got that noise doen pat. It depends on how much gas is in the tank. I have heard that they are only loud when you get down to a 1/4 tank or so. I have yet to get mine installed but I am not worried about it. I can just turn up the radio and that will fix it.

Also, your stock one could have been going out and been a bit louder than normal. If this is the case, you're probably just used to the noise by now.

Okay, so the wiring and everything looked okay then...I am not gonna worry about the sound...and I was at or below 1/4 tank. I will log it tonight to check my trims. Thanks

Hope im not jacking anyone's thread, i found it by searching. Here's my problem, i just installed the walbro, and well i can't hear it for shit, no noise even with a rewire? Well the car started and it's running rich so i know it's working, my fueltrims are wild and unstable, the low is at 114 (90 gst) and well the mid and i don't worry about so much unless im at wot. I could barely tune the lo-settings in the AFC, one second i see the trims at around 70-80 and then a while after they go to 112 or so then level out. Wow and the car seems to waste lots of gas, i had an empty tank when installed the so i went out and put five bucks($2.03/gal) ,gas is expensive, did some logs drove around and i got home and my low fuel light came on for a sec. damn.

Mine is pretty quite too. don't hear it unless I'm just idling. I did use the foam insolator thingy. :D

I have had mine in for about 8 months and i can't hear it. I have only heard it once and it was late at night and I had the radio off with less then a 1/4 tank of gas, and even then it was hard to hear over my exhaust.

GSXlaunch, get a AFPR your stock one is getting overrun like crazy, then try to tune it

I drove mine around last night...actually it seemed much louder then stock this time. I could really hear it buzzing at idle and whining at a steady cruise. There is a fuel order at times though...but no leaks. I screwed up and lost my software for my logger (purchased it used) so I was unable to log anything (left the freaking batteries out too long). I can say that cruising at 4k rpm on the highway in 4th my Greddy egt temps were about 750 C. I dont normally cruise on the hwy in 4th, I just wanted to see where my temps would be. I went wot a few times and the temps never got past 795 C. My Autometert a/f gauge goes a few lines further into the rich section when the car is warming. So it at least seems I may be running rich. I like the way it sounds...when driving it sounds like a faint supercharger...at idle it sounds more like a buzzing sound. You cant really hear it outside the car unless you are near the driver's rear tire. I will get a video clip of it so you guys can hear it and tell me if it is normal. I took out my radio and speakers so I have no choice but to like the sound. :) Thanks for all the replies.

Eclipse96Ryder, your mods are similar to mine...I was just wondering what you run at the track and how much boost are you able to run with a knock cound under 7? Thanks
