just as the title says..today i had my fuel pump installed..and ive been reading alot of threads saying how the 255 is loud and whines ..ive even heard my friends 190 and his is still loud..but i dont get it why is mine quiet? i know its in ...any clues?im gonna check it out tomorrow morn. but this thing is bugging me

If it doesn't whine oh well. Usually they only whine when you don't have them rewired. If it isn't whining don't worry about it. Mine never whined when I had it and it worked perfectly fine. If you wanna test it, remove the fuel line from the rail, put it in a bottle, and prime the pump for 10 second and take the amount in the bottle and multiply it to see if it is indeed getting the proper fuel.

Whine develops over time. When I first installed mine I could barely hear it, now I deffinately can. (I like the sound though, sounds like a built car).

I would complain. Give it time, If you don't hear a whine I would be concerned if they really did install the fuel pump!?!? I have never heard a 190 or 255 NEVER whine. WTF

It seems some whine alot more then others. I was blessed with one thats loud as hell, you can easily hear it from like 20 feet away from the car . One of my buddies that got his pump at the same time as me got luckey and you can barely hear it. I wouldn't worry about, just be happy with what you got ;)

Yea I was in anthonys car and didn't even notice the pump. I have a 190cc and you notice its there. Expecially when I put on my turn signal ROFL .

I am not trying to sound like an a$$, but dont you mean on you have a Liters per Hour (LPH) instead of Cubic Centimeters (CC'S) on your pump? WTF I was wondering about that.... :talon:

i was wondering if i have a 190 in my car with my 16g from the previous owner???

I dont have a back seat in now and every time it gets a little quiet i hear a whine coming from the gas tank and when my signals go on it gors up and down in pitch...

From what it sounds like yes, you do, but just to be sure, check it out yourself. It sounds he may not have done the rewiring correctly if not at all if the pump noise is changing with the turn signal or your high beams or something else because of voltage being shifted somewhere else. Can you contact your old owner and ask him? I would, just to be safe... :talon:

My 255 makes no noise either. It works fine so I don't care. Glad I'm not the only one. Come to think of it, with the vibrations, sun roof rattle, famous 2G window rattle, exhaust, music, and turbo... I can't even hear my passenger talking.

My friend also had a walbro 255 in his Civic and that one didn't make any noise either.

mine makes so much damn noise, i just turn up the stereo. When i have friends in my car though, they will ask what the whine is, i love seeing their faces when i tell em its my fuel pump(i have a bunch of honda friends) LOL
