Hi folks. Does anyone have any input on battery voltage stabilizers?

Came across a few on eBay while browsing through car audio equipment and after reading the listed benefits was wondering if they were true? Simply attach to the battery terminals and you will have stronger start ups, less headlight dim when heavy power draw occurs, etc.

Are they worth the money? Do they work? Any real true benefits?

I used it before. I had the one made by Buddy Club. Looks cool and all but it only saves like 1- .5 of a volt. Not to much difference. Cosmetic wise it's great.

They're a gimmick IMO. I would save your money.

I just wanted to update this for 2023 since a lot has changed.

Supercapacitors are now a common thing and can indeed be helpful. I run a bank of supercaps under the hood since my battery is in the rear and it has indeed helped with this setup. It should be noted that you should understand that they act only as a small close buffer mechanism and ultimately will pull whatever is taken from it back from the battery along with whatever amperage is otherwise being used. This means you need big wires as higher overall current is a potential result not smaller. I ran huge welding wires so it was not a concern for me buy may be for others or very long runs.

Always do the math then double it LOL
