Visual Difference between 50 Trim and 60 Trim wheels

I can tell the difference between the 60 and 60-1 comp wheels. The 60 has 6 curved inducer blades, the 60-1 has 7 straight blades. Don't remember the 50trim I had, sorry. mark

50 is smaller but also a 6 bladed wheel. Must measure the inducer to tell the difference.

good information, but from the photos attached, i couldnt tell the differencce. But a 60-1 has 7 blades and 60 only 6? I can tell that. Didnt know though. Thanks.

The inducer on a 50 trim is 2.13". On a 60-1 the inducer is 2.32".

Did he ask about 50trim vs. 60trim? Or a 50trim vs a 60-1?

In the T3/T4 series there is 46/50/54/57/60 trim wheels (plus more probablly..) But they also sometimes call the 60-1 62-1 and 68-1 as 60 series wheels not 60trim wheels as that means a T3/T4 type wheel.

So did you mean T3/T4 50trim vs 60series 60-1 or 50trim T3/T4 vs 60trim T3/T4?

The 60trim T3/T4 is only slightly larger than a 50trim doesn't have any more lbs /min rating and is a pretty shitty wheel at the dyno and strip in my opinion. On my buddies miata he did a 60trim and made less power than when swapping to just a 50trim wheel. Had he gone to a 60 Series 60-1 it would have been a huge increase cause thats a 60lbs /min wheel not 48lbs / min like a 50trim/60trim T3/T4 wheel.

TRIM= 100(inducer/exducer)^.
TRIM= 100(2.32/3.00)^.
The 60-1 is a 60 trim. To my understanding the difference between a 60 and a 60-1 (the wheel sizes are the same) is that the 60 has 6 curved blades and the 60-1 has 7 straight blades. Please correct me if I am wrong. Mark

I'm not saying it's not a 60trim what im wondering if he is talking about a 50trim t3/t4 vs a 60trim t3/t4. Or a 50trim vs a 60-1.

A physical turbo called a T3/t4 50trim which we all know of but there is also a 60 trim which is very similar and also 48lbs per min but dones't really make the same power.

The 60-1 is 60lbs/min and a totally different turbo. I'm just trying to figure out what 60trim he is talking about. Saying that is like saying I have a T3/T4 doesn't mean shit cause there are 10,000 combinations...

It seems like the original poster has not returned so we are pretty well wasting our breath.

I'm doing something wrong and getting 77. What does the ^ mean, raised to a certain power?

Correct. Square the .77 so you have .77x.77=.5929X100=59.29 or a 60trim

I don't know where the 56 trim came from. The 60-1 has the most potential fowing up to 60lbs/min. Mark

well guys im no scientist and know very little about turbos in terms of trim, but i will telll you that i just purchased an rs60t from agp, this turbo is a 60-1 which is signifigantly larger than the 60 and 50 trims, it flows way more.my turbo has7 wheels also not 6

I just got my AGP RS60T on and the car on the road and have 18 psi tuned on 650cc inj's.I think I have a boost leak or the 1G BOV has all it can handle because I have my MBC as tight/high as it will go. Shortened the actuator arm some also. I am VERY pleased withthisturbo. Spool is not an issue as I will not go to a track. I did get the studder box effect burned into my keydiver chip if I need it. Still some fine tuning and a couple more pounds of boost to squeek out of it as 20 is my goal on pump with the 650's.
The 60-1 flows about 7lbs/min more than the 60 and moves a lot more air at lower boost than the 60, according to Dave from Bullseye Power. Mark

Well from some freinds that have experience with 60trims, they supposedly make better racegas numbers and a little better topend than a 50trim.

And unfortunately this just is not the case. The 60trim made less power than the 54 did at the same power levels. The 50trim was better than both, on race/pump whatever. He was making 460whp on the 50 but just could not crack 420 on the 60 no matter what he did. The turbo would not wake up and make any power at any level. It just blew ass.

The only 50 trim and 60 trim pictures I have are next to our new Holset Pro HX-40 which is rated at 75 lbs/min.

DSMJIM are you including the 60-1 or just the 60? This thread has been confusing as to what 60trim is being referred to. The 60-1 seems to be a good turbo with an efficient wheel. I have not read anything bad about the 60-1, all positive feedback to my questions. mark

I am pretty sure he was talking about the 60 trim and not the 60-1. I haven't seen much of anything about postive remarks of the 60 trim on any DSM board. And even though they may be from the same family, I never considered the 60-1 and 60 trim to be similar or of the same family, even if they are, but two totally different turbos/wheels because of how they actually work on a car - whatever. Might be great for some tractor, I guess. Where does the term Super 60 come from? Which wheel does it refer too?

I do have a life outside my car, so I sometimes dont check back in a few days.

I was talking about the 60 Trim. It is bigger than the 50, but must be too heavy to make more power eh? I do know about the 60-1 being more superior but not why. DSMJIM gave some good info on the Series and Trims. So the Series have one more blade versus Trims? T3/T4 turbo has Trim wheel right? So a Series couldnt be placed into a T3/T4 turbo?
